After a lot of up and downs, the delivery of my moving especially the last step worked good, from the storage in FL to the house. The last driver worked professionally took care of the items. I repeat, is the last step review only, a great team of driver, Thank you Jesus (driver) and helpers. I still need to do the unpacking, and this review will be updated.

Communicative every step of the way. They took good care of our stuff, and got it delivered halfway across the country in a reasonable amount of time. Highly recommended .

They did an amazing job moving us. Movers were very polite, helpful and professional. It was an easy move with American Van lines.

American Van Lines Scammed My Elderly Mother - Don't Let THIS Happen to You AVL will give you a low-ball "Binding Estimate", but on move day, they will void the contract and come up with a NEW price. Keep reading for details. So, my mother was working directly with a sales person for months at AVL (James Coleman) and he instructed her to send him a list of items in the home. She asked him if he was planning to send an estimator to do a walkthrough in the house and he said that "they don't do that". She asked if he wanted photos sent and he said "not necessary". So she sent a list of the big items in the home, mostly furniture , and he said this was sufficient and gave her a quote. He explained that the Binding Estimate is the final price, it would not change with weight or number of boxes. We were locked in. So we thought. Moving week arrived and we were given a 3-day window when we should expect the truck to arrive. It never did. It's very difficult to get ahold of anybody who can actually help you at AVL but we finally spoke to Rita who manages the dispatch. Rita explained that they didn't have a truck and the NEW date is two days from now. We were selling the home so now in violation of escrow but luckily worked with the agent and buyer to give us two more days. Rita also promised a $100 credit per "day late" but of course we were never given that credit. We thought the worst was over but not even close. Moving day arrived and the truck was on time. The moving manager spent two hours walking through the home writing a detailed list of every small item in the home. He said that he was going to send this list to AVL and they would send us a "revised estimate". Really? What happened to our BINDING guarantee? Liz Edgar called from AVL and (surprise surprise) has a NEW PRICE due to all the small items they failed to ask for during the initial bid. Things like a coffee maker, dishes, a small box fan, garden tools... just things you would expect a home to have. We were NEVER told that they needed this level of detail. So, here we are, already past the escrow date and we absolutely have to be moved today, and Liz gives us a price that is MORE THAN DOUBLE the original "binding estimate". After quite a bit of arguing Liz stated that "We can honor the original binding contract but we will only move the items listed on that contract. But if you want everything moved, you have to sign the new (double price) contract. Choice is yours." And that's the scam. They had us up against the wall, with really no choice but to accept this new price, which could be anything they want. In my opinion, AVL has very suspect practices. I can't say for sure that AVL planned this all along, or that they never intended to honor the original contract, but that's how it seems to me. James could be incredible incompetent, or just very crafty. He's a sales guy who landed a contract and ended up doubling his sales on moving day. Worked out great for James while they emptied out my mother's savings account. I wish there was a law that protected consumers when they are at their most vulnerable. AVL took full advantage of the situation. I could never reccomend this company. The entire moving experience was an absolute nightmare and cost us a fortune.

The overall experience was great. We had issues with communication with the central office, but Kevin who was our assigned driver, made up for it by providing excellent customer experience. He made sure our stuff was loaded in Georgia quickly and delivered it in California on time. And he communicated with us all along his drive and made us aware of when we should expect him in California.

The people who came on the day of the move were excellent. Very careful, kind, and communicative. Appreciate Josh and the two gentleman who helped him on either end of the move.

The crew that helped us move was ever polite and optimistic. They completed the set up in the new place nicely and were helpful and many way by giving a hand in reposition a chandelier that was way too low! We had use the Co. For 2 different moves now.

The movers are the same as the drivers and they were fantastic from beginning to the end. I believe it was Reggie and Randy and they live in the Dallas Texas area. They should be recognized if you do that because they were pleasant and efficient and great representatives of your company

The team on both ends were courteous, extremely hard working, and very careful. We appreciated their experience, caution, and friendliness. On the Indiana (origin) side of the move, I had an important doctor appointment an hour away. They still had a few things to load when we had to leave. They offered to lock up for us. While we were gone and they were finishing a late-arriving package of as delivered. They texted us to tell us and ask what to do, using video.

Overall, everything went smoothly. I would especially like to compliment Allan Bleecher, who was very responsive and always took care of any issues, including problems with third party piano assembler. Two items were lost (piano bench and some stemware), but were eventually found by driver and delivered to me.

I hired American Van Lines to move from TN to FL. When I got their quote, they called and emailed me about 5x/day to get my business. I agreed. They charged my credit card about $7,000 for the move. About two weeks later, they asked for more money, which I reluctantly obliged. Then radio silence. I tried calling about 35 times in the week leading up to the move to confirm the date. I had to wait 45 min to an hour on hold each time to talk to a human about the status of my move - just to confirm the movers were actually coming (which they couldn't confirm). The day they were supposed to arrive they said they couldn't move me, and the money they had already taken for the past month was just to "reserve the truck" but not to reserve the moving date. The buyers of my TN house were expecting me out, and I had to come up with a whole new moving plan on zero notice. It was a total disaster. It was impossible to get ahold of American Van Lines throughout this entire ordeal, even after taking my money, they called me a total of twice and left one unhelpful voicemail compared to me calling about 45 times total. I only gave them 1 star because I can't give them zero. Hire JK movers instead, more expensive but much more professional. American Van Lines' behavior was shameful.

Great overall, quick and efficient. The only downside was bulbs and lamp shades missing however, it wasn't a HUGE deal, I would still use them on any future move. The price was fair for the move and the quality of the employees I worked with from corporate to the loaders were professional and polite.

I hired American Van lines March 9th 2021 for a packing and moving for April 29th. I asked and was assured they would not hire a third party mover. Days before the move I received a phone call telling me "sorry but we don't have anyone to move you so we had to hire a 3rd party".. I'm moving out of state and had no other choice. I paid top dollar to minimize these kinds of issues. Just about every issue under the sun happened. I was told packers would be here on Friday. I received a call on Monday to say they would be here on Wednesday! What! I now have 2 days to get ready!? ok I bust my butt for 2 days. On Wednesday I wait for movers to show up. I called to make sure I had day & date correct. I was assured movers would be there in a couple hours. 1/2 an hour before they were to show up the movers called to give me 24 hour notice to show!!!!!! WTF? I'm literally waiting for them. I called Scheduler and she apologized saying it was her fault. I don't even know who the company is that packed and put in truck. It was a rented truck from Enterprise. 3 guys came and the packing was horrendous! I paid a lot of money to have professional packing. No dish packs. No stemware packing. The guy says "oh don't worry no one's every complained before". A 4th guy shows up an hour later smelling like marijuana and proceeds to try to take big furniture down stairs by himself, so of course there are major gouges in wood stairs and walls from dolly and mishandling. This guy got so scary! He started screaming at his co-workers! So much that I had to have him leave! He was scary! The truck did not fit all my belongings. They had to shove stuff in and closed the door! I told them there was still a large picture on the wall. 3 times I had to remind them of things still in the house! A couple boxes had to go in one the workers car! My household arrived days late with smashed boxes! I haven't opened them yet and I can only imagine how bad my things are smashed. I paid top dollar to not have these things happen and they did! I am not a novice to intrastate and international moving with high end packing and moving. I will do everything I can to make sure people know how bad this company is.

Our move from Virginia to Ark was subcontracted out from American Van Lines to Boost Express Van Lines out of Brooklyn, NY. All were Ukranians many of whom were rude and rushed. Almost every box marked "Fragile' had broken glassware. Even an old butter churn they packed was broken in several pieces. Small pieces of furniture were broken. A rocking chair and a tv console worth several hundred dollars never showed up. Boxes of clothes on hangers were crushed and even plastic tubs were smushed and broken. Heavy boxes were placed on top of light weight items. Our movers drove all day and did not finish unloading until 1 am. Then they were to drive all night to Dallas so their unloading was extremely rushed. The movers did not communicate important information. I rented a uhaul trailer to carry bagged bedding and other lightweight things after the movers arrived to pack and told me I would have to pay for numerous boxes to put all the lightweight bags in. I did not buy additional insurance because I knew American Van Lines had been around a long time and I thought they were a good company. I applied for the standard reimbursement for damaged and lost goods but I refused to accept their payment because it was hush money. I had to agree not to share any negative information about our move with social media or anyone else. I share this in the hopes that others will think twice before they use American Van Lines.

American long distance moving has a group of movers that will handle your long distance relocation with ease no matter how big or small. After personally seeing how great they operate under my own eyes for my own move, I am confident in recommending them!

This is my second move with American Van Lines movers. The customer service representatives were very helpful and courteous. The movers were willing to work under difficult weather conditions. They inventoried and packed my household goods very meticulously in KY. They delivered my items within days in Tampa. I appreciate the company's attention to details and their commitment to quality assurance and my smooth transition. Thank you so much!

This review is for Brian McGuire. He is my hero! We were a week away from closing when it turns out my client didn’t have a mover. I called Brian immediately and he met with my client and made it happen in 5 days! This was a very stressful situation for my client since he was 80 years old and a widow.

We've moved over a dozen times and are experienced when it comes to moving companies, both large and small. We went with American Van Lines (AVL) because we wanted a professional, hassle free move, based on their promise they don't use sub-contractors. That is a very misleading claim. We contracted with AVL and were moved by a company called Oasis based out of Dallas, Texas. Our move originated in Ohio and if we wanted a small company out of Dallas we would have hired one and saved a $1000 or more. And, we definitely would not have hired Oasis, based on their negative reviews, which they more than lived up to, tarnishing AVL's reputation. Oasis was by far was the worst company we have ever used. Oasis was to arrive at our home at 9:00am. We needed them to be on time as we had to drive across country within two days to get back to our jobs. They didn't show up and after repeated calls, we were told they would arrive at 1:00 pm. Around 2:00pm, the driver called and said he was still 5 hours away. He arrived at 7:30pm and to make it worse, there wasn't enough room on the truck for our goods. They tried to blame us by saying we had underestimated our inventory. When we asked them to show us what wasn't on our inventory list, they had no response. We ended up having to put about 20 items back in our garage, and were told they would sent a second truck. I talked to Tally, who seems to be the owner of Oasis, who advised the cost would be a "couple hundred dollars" more. Since we were already delayed in starting our cross country drive, we had no choice and agreed. A few days later the truck with the partial load arrived and the driver demanded full payment before he would unload our goods. We refused, based on the fact that all our property hadn't been delivered. He then shut the truck and said he was leaving with our property. This felt like a "mobster" tactic. We called Tally who was extremely rude, angry, intimidating and unprofessional. He literally yelled at us that we must pay or he was keeping our property. Finally we reached our AVL agent and she told Tally to accept 75% and unload our property. To add insult to injury, we had to help the driver unload the truck because he was alone. We were unsure how he would have unloaded the truck on his own since there were several large pieces of furniture. Between the driver and three of my family members, we got the truck unloaded and were told the items we had to leave in our garage in Ohio would be retrieved shortly. It actually took Oasis two weeks to get a truck to pick the remainder of our goods and the driver told us he would deliver them in 2 days. A day later he called and said he had been re-routed and couldn't deliver to us as promised. We called AVL on a regular basis and were never told a delivery date. Our calls and emails to AVL often went unanswered. Finally, 2 weeks later, I received a text from the driver saying he'd be arriving THAT EVENING! No advance notice whatsoever and fortunately we were available to meet him. He told us to meet him at 10pm, which we agreed to because we wanted to end this nightmare and there wasn't much to unload. We waited at 10pm and then the driver texted that he miscalculated the time zones and wouldn't arrive until 11pm. At that point we told him to come the following morning. He also said the delivery fee would be $600. We agreed to this fee only because we wanted our items and to put this behind us. The next morning he arrived and said we owed $640. We told him he told us $600 the prior evening. He called Tally and he agreed to $600. We gave him cash and he examined the money with his keen eye and expertise and deemed it to be counterfeit because they were older $50 dollar bills (obviously a currency expert!). This was a bit of a laugh out loud moment but before we could even tell him we'd pay with a credit card, he closed the truck door and was going to hold our property hostage - this is obviously a technique Oasis is very comfortable using. We gave him our credit card and he then unloaded our property. Two items were missing, but he had no inventory list so we let it go at the time and filed a claim with American. Employees at Oasis said they are not allowed to say they subcontract for AVL, rather they are required to say they are a "sister company." This is why AVL can mislead customers by stating they don't use subs, when in reality they do. This was by far the worse moving experience we ever suffered through, and we're sure it would have been different had an AVL truck arrived at our residence as we expected and believed we had contracted for. Instead we got a far inferior company and paid AVL the additional costs they tacked on to sub the job out. If you contract with AVL make sure you clarify with them exactly who will be moving your goods. We were totally misled!

Communications prior to and during move were great. Very thorough. Bela was an absolute workhorse and a delight to be around. I appreciate everything he did for me! Would have him move me again. Very careful and conscientious.

All their trucks were busy, so they farmed out the job to some jerk who showed up with a rented truck. He could not fit everything in the truck because half the truck had possessions belonging to someone else. He made 2 trips, and left enough stuff that it took me 5 trips with my SUV to bring the rest of my possessions. 4 hours in each direction, times 5 trips equals 10 tanks of gas. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE VAN LINE FOR THE UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT OF THE "PROFESSIONAL" MOVER, AND FOR DAMAGES TO ITEMS BROKEN BY THEM, AND FOR POSSESSIONS THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. The move was in January. A few months later I filed the complaint and the damage claim. Now, at the end of November, I have heard nothing. I suggest that you do not consider using this company for a move. Also, the estimate from them was way too low. The actual on-site cost me a lot more money.

Their estimating process is relaxed and matter of fact but the actual onsite inventory process is very stringent and time consuming. They say I missed my homes inventory by over double the original estimate. They quoted $6000 but the total on the day of the move was over $14,000. On top of that the crew showed up 2 hours late. Live and learn.

After many phone call inquiries, we decided on American and I can tell you that after all the worries of what to expect I can say I could not of gotten a better mover! I am a first cross country move from fla to Ohio and truly had a total 100% satisfaction of the driver Daniel and his wife, also helpers Rick and Mitch they put runners on the carpet and protected all door jams , they loaded our house in a organized way in 2.5 hours and my stuff was packed safely and properly. They actually where waiting on us at the destination due to we had to clean up the next day on where we left our place in fla. bottom line don’t listen to half of the negative reviews I believe it is competitors tring to swing negative reviews for their sake because we could not have had a better experience! Period!

The move went great and the girl was very helpful! I will refer this company to all of my family and friends, and continue doing business with them with every move I make.

The overall move went well in many ways. It was also a demanding move, with COVID precautions, the need to transfer the household goods to a Uhaul , then to the moving van, and the secondary storage unit. We enjoyed meeting and working with the team. There were a few items damaged in shipping and in the unload process and I am still waiting for a claims form to be sent to me. Moving is often cited as one of the most stressful activities in life and it’s true. Our move was well coordinated due to the front end work of John and then Theresa and then of course the actual moving work done by Chris, Robert, CC and Mario. Contracting American Van Lines for my move was a huge mistake due to their poor customer service, 4-hour late pick-up, and significantly delayed delivery. Not only do they contract out to other moving companies, they also place belongings in storage before delivery. Moreover, I was verbally told to expect my belongings to be delivered in 5 days by a senior moving coordinator, a response which he maintained even when I questioned why the delivery date had a range of 19 days on the binding estimate. At this point, it has been 24 days since my move, and my belongings have not yet been delivered. I was finally told earlier today that my things will hopefully be delivered in 1.5 weeks. I repeatedly had difficulty getting my personal moving coordinator to return my calls, and she has been unable to explain why delivery has been extensively delayed. During more than one phone conversation, my moving coordinator told me that she did not even know where my belongings were located. When I attempted to email her supervisor with the email address she provided to me, the email was returned, undeliverable. I attempted to speak with someone in management, but I have been unable to do so. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Thanks to American Van Lines, I've been sleeping on the floor for nearly a month because I have no bed. I had to purchase new clothing to wear to my new job because all of my business clothes are in some storage facility in an unknown state. I cannot believe that, in this day and age, my moving coordinator has been unable to tell me where my belongings are located.

Everything was handled very professionally, and there was a lot of communication about when everything was happening. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines, and use them again if I need to move.

At both ends the movers were friendly, professional, and fast. But all the phone communications were confusing and we ended up with an extra charge that would not have occurred of internal company communication had been clearer. The company refunded half of the unnecessary charges.

I am writing to share what a great experience Jennifer Vale and James Coleman have provided us while making our reservations to have my parents moved from Minnesota to Nevada through American Vanlines.

I have not experienced more caring and kind individuals as Jennifer and James. They both made what has been a very stressful time moving my elderly parents from their home in Coon Rapids, Minnesota to near our home in Las Vegas, Nevada a much easier process.

They both made us feel as if we were part of their family. They have been so understanding of the pressures this kind of move can have on anyone, especially the elderly. They have kept us updated throughout the entire process and have always been very professional and kind.

American Vanlines is scheduled to load up my parents home next Tuesday, June 23 and I cannot imagine having to go through this process with another company or individuals. They are truly assets to your organization and have made our experience wonderful.

The person I worked with was very nice and accommodating. He was thorough in what he was talking about. They were also very good and efficient in their packing, and there was nothing broken. I moved about 1300 miles from Florida to Texas, and they were also organized and efficient when they moved. But they didn’t give me enough time to tell me when the furniture was gonna be delivered. I wasn’t there at the time and my sister was the one making arrangements to be there at the house. I asked for two or three days and they said, “Sure, sure. No problem.”

It’s a fluid situation with people closing on houses and having to put it off, but it still would be beneficial if they could give as much notice as possible, at least two days’ notice. But they said they would be here between three and six days so you would have to clear your calendar. Then they gave us less than a day’s notice to be there. I didn’t think that was fair but that seemed to be for all moving companies because I was doing two moves and the other one was the same way. American Van Lines’ people were better communicators than the first ones though.

Aside from giving me less than 24 hours’ notice, it was also on a Sunday that they told me they were coming and there was a little problem with that. I was not gonna have my sister miss church and sit there between 8:00 and 11:00 waiting for the driver to come. But we worked out a time of noon and he was there promptly and everything worked out.

Service from start to finish was excellent. Estimator, packers and loaders were on-time, courteous, hard-working and efficient. Delivery was fast and also on-time, in spite of hurricane near-miss. Big load, no damages. Fabulous. Highly recommend.

American Van Lines moved us from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. The price for moving was online with other companies. The first problem was American Van Lines subcontracted the move to another company. The second problem was they showed up with only 2 men to move 8,000 pounds plus. My family has to help carry boxes to the truck. The third problem was that I was promised exclusive use of a truck and they transferred my belongings to a eighteen deeper along with two other people’s furniture. The fourth problem was that during the transfer of my belongings they damaged and broke things. When the truck arrived boxes were jamed together with total disregard to fragile markings. My belongings arrived broken and damaged. The fifth problem was they showed up with 3 men that had no experience in moving furniture. The sixth problem was that the did not call me back as promised with claim information. The seventh problem is the insurance is a joke. It pays by the pound! The optional insurance was too expensive.

Regardless I expected my positions to be handled with care and respect. The eighth problem, which I should have mentioned earlier, is after the first men loaded the truck the head man “boss” demanded a TIP! I have him $50 because I was afraid they would take it out on my things.

Would I use of recommend American Van Lines again? NO! NO and NO!

Working with you was a pleasure. Keep up the good work. I recommend anyone interested in working with hard working honest guys go with these guys.

The movers were very friendly but worked very fast and didn’t waste any time getting everything packed up properly and protected properly. I did have to have my household belongings stored for a couple of months and when I finally found an apartment and everything was redelivered it was the same guys that had moved me to begin with and they did the same great, fast, careful job like ey had done originally.

I’m extremely satisfied with the whole process and would use American Van Lines again for my next move, no question, I wouldn’t even consider anybody else.

Barbara and Nora for the two ladies that I dealt with and both were professional and courteous and both did a great job.

Their staff was great to work with. On the phone, representatives answered all my questions and stayed in touch with me during the entire process. The moving staff called the day before. They carefully packed the dishes and the furniture and transported to Georgia. They unloaded everything quickly and there was no damage.

WONDERFUL MOVING EXPERIENCE!! Brian came to our house on the recommendation of our realtor. The estimate was thorough and reasonable. Boxes/packing materials were delivered to our home at no additional charge. When more boxes were required they were delivered timely with just a simple text request. On moving day the crew arrived on time and loaded the truck. We needed an additional stop before our storage unit which was completed for a small extra fee. The moving crew led by another Brian were courteous and professional. They handled our belongings with care. Will absolutely call American Van Lines for any future moves.

Excellent for a long distance move if you don’t need your items by a certain date! You do have to pay in full before your items are delivered though, which is risky if your items happen to be lost or damaged. My delivery date was changed about three times but everything arrived in pretty good condition.

Best moving experience I’ve ever had. Your team maintained constant contact with me from my first inquiry about your services to my furniture pickup and delivery. The moving crew was fast, efficient, professional and friendly. Whenever anyone needs a tip on moving companies you are my first and only choice

Moving guys were great and very careful. Estimator probably should have had a fourth guy there so that we weren’t there so late. He estimated 12 hours and it took 13 which means he accurately estimated how long it would take, but so late at night they didn’t have time to put together all the furniture. I didn’t understand how long it would take and at that point they were so tired that I sent them home. Otherwise I was very happy with the move.

Only one complaint: no pre-notification on either end of when the van would arrive. At the pick up was a phone call–we’re here. At the delivery, one hours notice. I was not present at the pick up, but I highly commend the driver/mover at the delivery end. Competent, polite, and professional.

American Van Lines was an excellent company to work with – on ALL LEVELS. The customer service calls were answered quickly. The two Loaders and Driver – Manny & William were exceptional to work with. They explained everything clearly to us. Asked pertinent questions. Everything was packed carefully. Delivery was excellent too! If we ever move again, I will only call American Van Lines.

I paid to have my items packed. I ended up packing a fair amount myself because the move was going very slow. I had a 3 bdrm TH & it took 7 hours. When delivering my furniture to my new place, I was given a window of 12-1:30 PM delivery. Didn’t show up until 8:30 PM and took until 2:30 am to unload. Not happy about the experience. The moving men were nice, so that is why I gave 3 stars.

I have had my share of relocations throughout the USA where moving companies have been chosen by the company I worked for. I didn’t have anything to worry about but there were some hurdles along the way. This time, I chose the moving company. I made the right choice. Broken items in move. Plus 3 inch tear in bottom if leather couch at bottom, broken reading lamp that matched my two end tables lamps. Have pictures if all that had damage. The driver/ loader was very kind and diligent to call before loading & unloading. We tipped his helpers and him…otherwise planned move went awesome. I would highly recommend American van lines East & West moving runs. Better than movers from AZ to OR. That was a nightmare. Your coordinator was awesome as well. Joyce/Don Yeaman.

A nightmare!

Great service – estimator was spot on. We got another quote that was 30% higher than American. They picked up and stored the van at their warehouse overnight since we were moving about 5 hrs away. We had a small hiccup but customer service was right there to fix. I’m a realtor and would recommend them to my clients. I will definitely use them for our next move.

The movers were not only friendly but professional. This was a rather quickly put together state-to-state move and the level of customer service I was provided was top notch. Communication was great from both the corporate office but also with the drivers who were picking up and delivering. They arrived promptly (if not a little early), began an inventory of my items and did their thing. They also were kind while I was finishing up the last little bit of packing and even pointed out a few things that I needed to be aware of (and fixed a loose foot on my dresser!). I looked around for a transport service when I was moving within the state for work and American Van Lines had really good reviews on the Better Business Bureau. I filled out the surveys online and that was all really good. My interactions with the moving consultant were good too. The reps were thorough and responsive. I got somebody quickly on the phone and they were able to give me an estimate in a good amount of time. The moving crew that I worked with was really good as well. I was moving from Half Moon Bay, California, to Tucson. At the time, I was looking for a long distance mover with good ratings and I decided to work with American Van Lines. Their rep and I stayed in constant contact. We had to change our moving date and every time I called them they were very accommodating. Their rep was very honest and would send us estimates. She supplied us with all the documents of what they can and cannot take. She also answered all our questions and specified in detail what kind of places the trucks can go into. Also, we are renting a house now and we were thinking we would have them pick up our stuff and keep it in storage until our house is completed. Their rep told us they could do that but it would get very expensive. So, instead, we will just call them again when we move to our new house.

I heard nightmare stories from my wife’s brother who didn’t use American Van Lines. Conversely, the moving crew I had was the best. Eddie was our truck driver and I’ve never ever seen anybody work as hard my entire life. I was surprised ‘cause I’ve used movers before when I was in the military, so this is the first time I had to pay for it. Though our estimate was a little bit lower than what we had to pay, it was still reasonable and we were more than happy to pay it. I’d tell others to choose American Van Lines.

I honestly thought that this was going to be super sketchy after all the comments but this worked out great, the movers were all very nice!! Honestly everything was fantastic, it did take forever (three weeks) but I mean, I had a really small shipment going across the country, I knew that was a possibility. These guys were great, I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. The movers were really kind and helpful guys, and they got everything I needed. The moving process is so freaking rough and there are so many bad reviews out there, I couldn’t pick a company for the life of me. I’m really glad I settled on these guys.

My experience with American Van Lines was wonderful. We relocated from the outer banks in North Carolina further South on the coast, just North of Myrtle Beach for business reasons. I went online and searched for moving companies. The lady from AVL was the most helpful and their rates were good, comparable to everybody else. But overall, I like their personal service and the personal touch which carried through all the way to moving to our new place. There was an honest desire to be helpful.

Their movers were friendly, courteous, and very, very professional. Cherry and his crew were absolutely marvelous. Since I’m retired military, I have a considerable experience with packing somebody up and they did a great job in getting everything done from scratch to in the truck and ready to go within eight hours, which was marvelous because they moved nearly 5,000 pounds. The subcontractor that moved us was absolutely marvelous. AVL should use him every chance they get. This was probably the best experience I’ve ever had with a moving company.S

I highly recommend using American Van Lines for your next move! They were straight forward, reasonably priced, and professional. Brian was extremely easy to contact for our estimate and setting up the move. They dropped off boxes and packing materials ahead of time and loaned us wardrobe boxes the day of, which saved us a lot of hassle and money!

On the day of the move, Aldo and his team showed up on time, were extremely careful but also very efficient. We moved from a condo in a high rise to a two story home. The building’s service elevator stopped working halfway through the move and they still made the move seamless. They protected the banister and walls on the stairs of our new home. All of our furniture and belongings arrived safely and were placed exactly as we asked.

An all around GREAT experience! This company was professional from the first call to unloading the last box. Johnny looked at the listing of my home online and estimated the weight of my furniture and belongings piece by piece. He was off by only 200 pounds (out of 15,000 pounds) and they will refund the difference. The movers (Reggie, Mickey, Enrique, and Grant) arrived on time, worked quickly and did it all with a smile. The movers are company employees, not contract workers, and they are therefore vetted. They worked effortlessly together since they work as a team. The same team loaded and unloaded the truck, so they were familiar with how to put things back together. And the best part – nothing broken! I can’t think of how they could have been better. I actually had a mostly positive moving experience with American Van Lines. Their quote was reasonable, my customer service rep, Kimberly, was extremely friendly & helpful. The contractors who came to pick up my items were pleasant, did their job well, and really made me feel like the furniture I wanted to keep after my Dad’s passing was in good hands. They spent extra time constructing a box/protection for an antique hat/umbrella stand that I knew would be tricky to move and despite my having all but resigned myself to it possibly damaged in transit it arrived safe & sound thanks to their extra care.

The furniture was delivered promptly and well within their estimated delivery window and my friend who met them said the team who delivered the items were also courteous and hard working.

The only complaint I have is that once they have delivered your items and gotten the remainder of your payment it becomes almost impossible to get anyone to respond to an email or voicemail. Because I had a friend receive the items he didn’t ask for the receipts/paperwork that would show the final payment. I need those documents for tax purposes and it became a serious struggle to get anyone to help me. I still haven’t gotten a receipt for my final payment and it’s quite frustrating.

So, I have to say that if you can make sure that everything is taken care of before you make your final payment, you will probably have a pleasant and well run move.

*I want to add that after reading my review the owner contacted me almost immediately and very efficiently solved the problem and provided the paperwork I needed.

So they really did take great care of me from start to finish.
